September 27-28, 2013 the City of Rincon will be hosting their Annual Octoberfest. It will be held this year at the open field next to Lowe’s. HOPE will be at the event so make sure you come by to see us. We will be there from Friday at noon when they start until about 6-7 pm. We will be back on Saturday at 9am until about 6-7pm that evening.
We will be selling our HOPE shirts, goodies for the dogs, doggie bandanas, Paw print bracelets, hand painted wine glasses, and so much more. Come out to see what we have as you may find a few items that would work for Christmas presents for others or yourself. All donations and payment for items goes directly to the animals. HOPE is a nonprofit organization.
HOPE will also be hosting the Annual Best Dressed Pet Contest. It will be on the stage area at 10am on Saturday. It is a $5 entry fee that goes to HOPE to help out the pets in Effingham. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the top three winners. If you would like to participate in the Dog Contest please print out this entry form and bring it the day of the event with your $5.
Hope to see you there.
Check out our newest adoptables at the shelter as of 8/23/13. So many dogs and even little kittens to choose from. From Black labs and Brussel Griffons to Chihuahua mixes and mixed breeds. Check them out on our adoptables page. We also have a few rescues linked there as well so be sure to check out their pages too if you don’t see anything from the shelter. The picture below only shows a few. Please go to our ADOPTABLES PAGE.
OK we are starting a food drive for the shelter. They have expressed some concern in getting enough food for their dogs as they have had so many come thru their doors that their regularly supplied food is not making it thru the month. Therefore HOPE is stepping up and asking the community to help out by donating some adult dry dog food to the shelter. If you have the means to get it and take it please do so. The shelter is located on Hwy 119 right beside the prison. If coming from Rincon heading towards 119, go right at 119. Once on 119, when you see the turn lane on the right. Turn right and the shelter is on your immediate left.
If you cannot get the food, nor take it to them, please feel free to hit the “DONATE” button on the far right side of our page and utilize Paypal to make a donation for food and we will buy and deliver that food in your name.
They only appear to be in need of adult dry dog food as they do have a surplus of cat food right now and enough puppy food as well. Brand and quantity is not important, as any amount or kind is greatly appreciated.
When delivering it yourself, please tell them HOPE sent you so they know we are trying to get them the food they are in need of.
